Found a bike in the trash

Alright, so I'm a college runner for a D1 university and on my way back on a run I found a pretty decent looking bike. It was in a trash can with the lid on but I could see a reflector barely sticking out, so I took it home. It looks like it rides fine, besides needing two new tire tubes. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this bike and whether or not if I fixed it up I could make some money on it or not. I'm a mechanical engineer so I am pretty handy, although I have never been a bike person I'm looking to do my first tri this summer.

Anyway, it is a red bike and it says Spalding Blade on it (TE). I'll upload pictures later.

Spaulding Blade was a department store bike from the 1970s. If that is what you have, it will not be a money maker.

Thanks, I actually just listed it on craigslist a couple hours ago and gave it away for $39 to some kid who went to Pepperdine. Should get me a few beers at a bar.
