Miyata with some vintage Campy
Hi, my friend is trying to find out how much her bike is worth -- she was told some of the Campy parts were valuable.
Campy parts are FD, RD, shifters, and front hub.
You can see photos on this page:

(click to see at full size)
Not too worried about an exact valuation, just looking for ballpark.
Thank you!

lt has potential, but as it is it likely isn't worth too much. The 'valuable' campy parts would only be 'valuable' if they were in good to excellent condition. The headset looks campy also but it is so rusted it is hard to tell. The amount of time required to bring this bike to a saleable condition would be substantial. IMHO the bike as it is would be worth about $50 to me.

I thought the front hub might be Campy, but upon closer inspection, it is a Normandy hub.
I'll try to get better pics of the headset.
Brake levers look like maybe Campy to me, I'll take a better look tomorrow.
Thanks for your feedback, BianchiGirll & terrors!

Poor condition trumps whatever quality was there unfortunately. Parts can be valuable when they are clean, rust free, and ready to ride condition. Without better pics of the frame, $50 is a good guess.

Thanks everyone, much appreciated!
I think we'll try to get a little more than $50 for it, since the bike rides well, and heck, we're in Santa Cruz, with a high population of students, hipsters, etc.
Around here, I feel like $50 doesn't buy much -- sure, if you're lucky, at a garage sale, but not on Craigslist.
But none the less, thanks everyone for the reality check! :-D
