another bianchi identifing question
I am going crazy trying to find a pic of this bike anywhere. Here is the info I have
Bianchi frameset ( white in color- blue lettering, see pics)
Campagnolo Nuovo Record Front & Rear Derails
Campy Shifters
3 TTT Stem with stamped " Bianchi " on each side & " B" in front
Bianchi crankset ( 52/42 )
Omega headset
Brakes are Dia Compe 400
No serial number stamped on BB. Only the number 889 stamped on frame where seat post is( pic wouldn't come out)
So, What year, make, model, etc. It's in solid shape. Just little paint chips missing here and there.
What's it worth? Is it worth stripping it down to repaint? All components are in great shape.

Looks like a nice bike - probably a Campione D'Italia. I'm not sure why the tubing stickers are missing, but probably Formula 2. It looks stock, I'm not sure why you'd need or want to tear down anything, let alone repaint. In any case if you're concerned about value, I'd say about $300 the way it is. Lots less if you repaint.

Forgot to mention, the saddle is definitely not stock, and is not doing the bike any favours, especially at that angle. Swapping it out for something cooler would do wonders for the bike.

Ok, thanks for the info,, yeah, that saddle is already switched out.. Didn't really wanted to repaint the frame, just was entertaining the idea if it would help the value.

I think the year would be somewhere around '84 to '87ish. I do not haveaccess to my catalogs but something makes me think this is more of an Alloro level bike. PM late next week to remind me and and I will look it up.

Repaint basically means you will have to spend quite a bit to get it right (new decals, etc.), maybe $300 to $400 for the repaint. And the "best" part? It reduces the value of the bike. Buyers want original stuff.

the frame is certainly Chromoly steel of some grade. depending on the model it could be a Columbus frame perhaps an Alle level main tube with Falck or unnamed cromo stays.
I agree on the repaint. other than satisfaction of having a celeste Bianchi you will never get your money out of it. especially since you do not know the exact model and frame materiel to begin with.
