Nishiki Competition?

Sorry for the bad pictures, there all I have. The seller thinks it's a international, but i think with the chrome stays maybe it's a competition. He's asking $120. I"m thinking if it has Sugino Mighty cranks, and with the bar end shifters, it might be worth pursuing. What do you guys think?

Thanks

If it is at least a late 70's International, it would probably have alloy rims, Suntour Vx drs, butted main tubes in addition to what you mentioned already - AND it's orange!
I would check it out.

Don't think it is an International, looks like a Competition to me. Looks like a pretty good deal to me.

+1, it appears to be a mid-1970s Competition. An International would not have had the chrome stays and bar end shifters.

Hi Brian -
For $120, this is pretty decent deal: I'd estimate $250-275 in an average market (all cleaned up and serviced, and provided there are not aesthetic issues with the finish).
The medium/ large frame holds the value down some.

+1 $120 in the current dirty state, fully cleaned up, new bearings, grease, cables, housings, good tires, tubes; might bring $250 then. Does it have any original decals? If not, I would be less interested in it as it probably is a repaint (and I don't care for repaints), and a repaint depresses the value from my estimates.

The condition is pretty rough, but the seller came down a bunch. The bikes my size, so no hurry to flip.
Suntour GT derailleurs
Sunshine large flange hubs
Sugino cranks
Gran Comp stem
Suntour shifters

Congrats Brian !
You'll have a gas cleaning and lubing it up. (Be sure to do a dork-disk, reflector and turkey-wing-ectomy while you're at it. )

I love the color and the randonneur bars -and you have an excellent drive train there too!
If he came down a bunch, then you did quite well ( the barcons alone are worth $30 or $40).
