The frame is obviously influenced by the Raleigh Chopper and CCM Marauder but it neither. Still, the influence would seem to place it in the 1970s, as opposed to a late 1969 hi-rise bicycle. The condition of the Mustang decal almost looks too good for the rest of the bicycle. I don't see any other surviving decals, so I wonder if this might have been added after the fact? Peel it away a bit, and if there's any deterioration underneath, it was almost certainly added later. Maybe you'll even discove the original color.

Thanks t-mar, i have seen a few similar CCM models but nothing the same, i thought maybe it was by CCM but would like to know for sure, the sticker is quit deceiving in the pics, it does seem to be an original mustang decal when you look for real and up close, but the bike isnt the same as a CCM mustang. as for the colour of the bike there is a little of the original colour on the underside which seems to be a bronzy gold, and i have noticed upon a quick look the numbers 72 under the crank area

hi there can't believe this been looking all over for one of these, i got one of these as a xmas present back in 1976 would have been 8 yrs old then. Think these where a budget version of the chopper as money was scarce in our family then and i always wanted a proper chopper, mind thinking back think i prefer the mustang , more chrome and a nice colour bronze . Who knows could even be my old bike !! Lovely to see it again many thanks for the pics. For your info i live in newcastle upon tyne .. And i know the bike was purchased in newcastle. I will try to find out more info from my parents from you cheers phil
