'88-89 Colnago Master

w/ new Rival Group, Bontrager Lite Wheelset, Thomson post and stem.

Frame is completely original with some paint chips, no rust (chrome forks had small shallow specks of rust but was able to rub out with a ball of alum foil), but mostly in good overall shape.

Fireplace not included.

What do you guys think? $?

I sold a Colnago Master X-Light last year with a 9-speed Veloce group for $1550 but it was in brand new condition, pretty much NOS. Colnagos have a pretty big fan base so I think that with the right photos, you could hit $1300 or $1400 in the spring.

Is that a threaded headset with a threadless adaptor?

i mostly agree with Jet Sanchez but would put the sale value lower at around $1000-$1100, based on what I'm seeing on eBay these days. These particular Colnagos are pretty but relatively modern and not sought out by collectors as much as a 1970's or early 80's Colnago would be.

If you don't mind the hassle, probably will net more with a part out.

Thanks for the replies...

Headset is threaded w/ an adapter. I didnt want to mess with changing out the headset (just de-greased and repack) and the adapter was a quick solution (the weight is the big trade off tho).

I built it back up to ride after having it literally sit around for 20 years. Limited budget only got me to Rival level so I went with a new drive train and wrench'd the entire bike back together myself...not too bad after 20 years of not touching a bike chain =). But yeah, if I do sell, perhaps just the frame/fork would be a better way to go.
