ID needed Campagnola Record Hubs, Saavedra Rims

I recently bought an '87 Raleigh Road bike, and these were thrown in.

I would like to know the year and model of the hubs and rims and their estimated value.

Hello jquest21. your Campagnolo hubs are Record High Flange. Record is the model and they were made for several years. I believe if the locknuts are original you somtines find a date on the inside of them. do you have the skewers? if the lever is flat that means the hubs are an older model.

I am not familiar with that brand of rim, but I suspect they were a late '80s model likely from the european market and not seen much in the US

the hubs depending on condition go from anywhere from $50+ for the pair on ebay. it is possible that the entire wheel set could bring more as I am not sure what the rims are.

I checked the locknut and it says "CAM 72." I do not have the skewers. On the rims, there is an Saavedra sticker that says "Industria Argentina," which leads me to believe they were made in Argentina... Do you or any one else know more about these rims? Thanks!

Khatfull bought a pair of these rims I believe. Quite light and very stiff.

If you clean up that wheelset a bit, I'd say you have a $125 wheelset. If not, probably around $70

The rims are indeed from Argentina. They gained popularity as they were some of the first Aero Rims, mid 80's. Check for cracks, and to make sure the fitted alloy washers are in place. Usually these are seen in lower spoke counts.

72, unsurprisingly, means the lock nut was made in 1972. Chances are excellent the hubs (Campagnolo Nuovo Record large flange) are the same age. The rims are at least 10 years younger. I've never used the rims and cannot comment on their dollar value or utility. The hubs are common enough so that you should be able to find a comparable pair on eBay to get a sense of their market value. They are excellent hubs: smooth & tough. Pretty, too! They are not anodised, so you can polish them up real nice...
