Need help IDing Vintage Bike

A few years ago a vintage bicycle of unknown provenance was passed on to me by the deceased owner's elderly wife. Her claim was that the bike is a WWII era Raleigh. I am not a cyclist and have little knowledge of anything bike related, but judging by the badge I'm fairly certain it is not a Raleigh. Is there anyone out there that can shed a little light on what this bike is, when it was produced and how much it may be worth?

Thanks
Eric

Hello jekamak, you posting has had about 117 views. however I guess there is not enoughinformation available to identify it. I am no expert on bikes of this age but it looks to anywhere from '30s to the '50s to me. hundreds of manufacturers have come and gone in American since the turn of the century it could have been built by anyone of them.

try posting a few more pics, nore of a side view maybe a little closer. a pic of the crank and chainwheel may help. also the rear dropouts. if there is not some 'signature' of the manufacturer we may never figure it out.

+1 Going to need a lot better pics, close ups of fork crown, dropouts, crank, etc. And there is not a large cruiser crowd here, so I am not sure anyone can ID it.

My first reaction based on the frame style and paint was a late 1940s CCM, but the serial number format, though close, is not quite correct.
