Centurion Elite RS Value

Hello. I got this at a thrift store and cleaned it up. I put new tires on and new wrap for the bars. Nice bike and rides very nice. Shimano 600 components. I spent 101.00 for the bike and around 35 for the tires so far. I have the original Shimano 600 pedals but are made for clips so I have just basic pedals on it now. So I believe outside of the Brooks and bar tape she's all original.
I live near Sacramento and would like to know if I made a good investment.

Nice bike and nice Gran Compe brakeset. You did very well for your $140 investment.

I'll let more experienced members give you a proper estimate, but I would say $250+, depending on the extent of that rust.

Have you looked at Ebay closed auctions for values?

Nice bicycle, great investment. It appears to be a 1985 or 1986 model. Please post the serial number for my database. You may also want to post it in the Centurion Serial NUmber Database thread for the enjoyment of the forum's other Centurion owners.

Edit: Just noticed the attached pics. It should be a 1985 model based on the serial number. The rust is quite extensive and may justify a repaint unless it is confined to the BB area, in which case rust treatment and touch-up may not be too noticeable. I would no longer consider it to be a great investment but I would still consider it good, provided the rust is restricted to the BB area and you can get by with rust treatment and touch-up.

Rust would be a value killer around here. It would have to get the full OA treatment and some touch up prior to getting pricing above. 600 pedals even without clips have some value, I would pop the pedals onto ebay if you don't want them. Note, I have been stockpiling Shimano 600 pedals as I like them and they are getting harder to find.

Thanks guys! I can't locate the SD card with my 'after' shots but these pedal polised up beautifully! I don't want to sell them.

The BB pic was a B4 shot. The rust wasn't as bad as it looks there. I need to touch it up though.
1985! My marriage was only two ears old and had a 1 year old kid. That's about the same time I was given a
old Fuji that sparked my passion for bicyles. Someone used bolt cutters to get that one.
