Pawn Shop buy!
Well, I have been looking for a classic/vintage road bike for some time now and I finally found this Raleigh at a local Pawn Shop. I paid 50.00 so I am pretty pleased. I am unsure as to what frame it is as the stickers are all gone. It has Raleigh Suntour Components and the wheels are Raleigh hubs with Avaya hoops. Maybe some of you can help me find out what model it is. Also, I am a little unsure about the handle bars but they can be changed. I think this will be a good bike for my first single speed/fixie conversion! Here are some pics!

NO, I have not moved it. It really isnt in riding condition right now but hopefully soon. I just picked it up today and am about to tear it apart and get started working on it.

Given that it has alloy hoops, my best guess is that it is a circa '79 Raleigh Super Grand Prix.
That would be consistent with the pearl blue frame and black-banded seat tube and head tube. Raleigh branded suntours and the alloy crank seems right too.
- Assuming that is the case, I have to break the news to you that someone made off with your Barcons as well as your drops, and stuck those stem-shifters on with the northroads.
But take heart - You did quite well at that price!
PS - Do please be sure the seat post isn't stuck!
