Another Centurion

First off, I found this board while doing a search on info for My Centurion Elite RS.
I picked up more info in several hours here than in days elsewhere on the web.
I am the original owner from I think 1983. Really bummed out because the original paperwork is missing from the desk.

Used to ride it alot (about 80mi a week) but then got hung up in the mountain bike craze and finally my knees are done!.
I almost gave it away but the guy was too short for it. Very glad now I didn't do that. Took some Pics and tried to show some measurements because I don't remember what size it is.
Everyones opinion is welcomed be it good or bad.
Offers are welcomed too!
I'm in So. Ca.

THANKS!

That's a very nice bike, for sure. All the components look like they're of very good quality and still in great shape, paint looks good. Are you looking for a value/ suggestion for sale price?

Yea, I do need to sell it,mainly to finance another bike.
I'm too old to ride that route anymore. Might do a mild mountain.

Ran the S/N from another topic in this forum and it came up as a 1984.
Spent another hour this morning looking in another file cab. and still can't find the original paper work.. Oh Well..

Don't waste your time trying to track the year down. Just call it a 1984, it has no bearing on value.

If you are really interested in dating it, just look up the codes on the components at the vintage Trek site.

Around here, that bike might bring $275 (bonus for condition, nice bronze touches, rims, large chain ring, brake calipers, brake levers, that really make for an attractive bike). Add a premium for CA market.

^^ +1

In your market, a clean, ready to ride bike of that quality should pull $300. Start there on the local CL, and see what happens. You mike even try $350, and see what shakes out of the trees. The weather's nice, and spring fever should be starting any day.

I have an 85/86 Elite Rally Sport that I've been trying to sell for 2 months in the Bay Area for 285. It's a pretty nice one with original Shimano 600, but it's black, which I think is holding it back. Yours looks more minty then mine and I like the color better. I think if you wanted to sell it quickly in SoCal, 275 asking price would get attention. If you had the time, and willing to wait for a better price, I'd put it up for 300 or maybe a bit more just to see if someone is out there who has been wanting this bike for a long time. You can always drop the price later.

That is a beautiful color.

The bike has been obviously ridden, but the frame looks as it did out of the box.

Well my Centurion went to a new home.
Finally found the right person on CL (not a flake).
The guy was tall eniough and knew what it was.
He offered $220 and I said It's your's!
It will more than likely still exist in 30 more years! he keeps the bikes he owns.
