Raleigh Grand Prix Identification?
Hello,
I was kicking around craigslist when I came across this:
https://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/mss/bik/2205077476.html
Now I'm curious about the two raleigh's, it calls them "Grand Prix" and gives these details:
"12-speed. Shimano gears. Weinmann Brakes. Tange 5 seamless tubing. Quick-release front wheel. Sakae handlebars. Grey metallic paint with silver forks. Made in England."
Now I don't know if the listing is wrong, but I can't find anything about this bike. The closest thing I can't find is a '85 Marathon, except this model has a grey fork on it.
I'm under the impression this bike is fairly common as I've seen a few of them around town and on campus. Also I know that it has the word "raleigh" imprinted and painted on the seat stay where it connects to the seat tube, if that helps.
Also would it be worth asking price of $160? I'd probably trade out a few components, but would like to keep it mostly as is
Thanks.

I could be wrong but those look like Taiwanese built Raleighs, mid 80's probably.
They list a Grand Prix in the Road Sports section in this link that looks similar https://www.sheldonbrown.com/retroral...985/index.html

Hey, I think i figured it out. It is a 1985 grand prix, but a version built in Canada. I found this:
https://oldtenspeedgallery.com/owner-...gh-grand-prix/
Seems like a solid bike that would fix up nice, however, I just did the math and a 23in frame would work out to about 58cm? That's a bit big for me, so I'll pass on this.

edit: should have read the post above me, bike's too bike for the OP
Ah nice ! The Canadian made Super Grand Prix, I own one and currently ride it daily , SS, as a commuter. It is indeed Tange 5 (seamless) tubing, alloy wheels, came with Shimano SIS I believe. Not light bikes, but mine rides quite nice. I'd have paid 160 in ready to ride condition no question.
