Waterford 1250 Frame: Worth $300?
Here are some pics from a seller for the frame, fork & headset. Its a 753 Reynolds frame, Henry James lugged Waterford 1250. spot Touring Geometry. He is asking $300. Is he in the ballpark on price?

I'd buy it...and think price is low. 753 frames tend to sell high and when you combine that with Henry James and Waterford, I'd be into it.

Frame and fork?
Yes. Absolutely.
From the 1996 model descriptions:
Model 1250 Sports Touring Frameset
Perfect for supported touring such as RAGBRAI and BAMMI, the 1250 combines the athletics of the 1200 with the comfort of a classic road touring bike. The 1250 includes rear rack support for credit card touring. Twenty-one standard sizes. From $1,100.
It's got similar geometry as the current RS-22 (my Waterford 953 is an RS-22). It's fantastic.

Went to look at it today and passed. Seller would not come down in price and the paint was in much worse shape than the pictures indicate. Lots of big chips filled in very poorly w/ a non-matching white paint. Someone painted over the original owners name with non-matching white paint evethough you could still see the red script through the paint.

I've seen Waterfords as you've described sell for $100+ more than what he is asking. Since you made the effort to look at it, chances are he may take your offer. That is, if nobody picks it up first.

I'd buy that in a second if it fit me. You could send it back to Waterford for a refinish for a total expense of half the cost of a new frame, and it would be your custom color, etc. What's not to like?

+1. As long as paint chips are the worst of it, I'd be on it in a heartbeat if it were your size.

Through long distance shennanigans and much help from fellow forumites, this bike now looks to be mine-- I should be picking it up at the T-town swap! Yay!
A big shout out to fender1 and holiday 76.

I would buy it (if it fit) and think about having Waterford repaint it.
