Cannondale w/shimano accessories
Excuse me if I'm in the wrong place. This is the first time for me on this site. I've inherited a Cannondale with Shimano 600 accessories/drive train and I'm trying to find out what would be an appropriate price to ask. Can anyone put me on the right path? I have a pictures available. https://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/bik/2221276250.html. I don't know if this is a too high or too low.

I've seen the bike. The drive train is Shimano 600 (levers, cranks, RD, FD). The frame appears in good condition. There is no model name or numbers that appear on the bike. The turkey levers and foam grips look out of place on the bicycle. I believe he is asking too much, but what is a fair price for the bike? I made an offer of $120 for the bike (Maybe I offered him too much). I told Ron to post the picture on this forum. I would be interested in hearing your opinions.

If the decals are original, it is between an '83-'86. Those were the only years the decals had a black border around the lettering. The brake levers are not original, I'm pretty confident about that. I don't know about your market, but I don't think that Cdale would sell for that much in my high-priced West Coast market. $150-200 would be more appropriate if none of the components need replacing and the frame is in good shape.

You need to add some info to your Craigslist ad.
Frame Size
Frame condition(any major dings, paint issues) or if none specify no dings or paint problems
List the component models (brakes, derailleurs, cranks)
List tire condition
List any additional items. Anything in the bag included.
Riding condition? Ready to ride. Needs a tune-up? Just had a tune-up?
Is that a padded seat cover? If so take that off. I'd remove the safety brake levers also.
More pictures. Take a picture of the drive side and a couple of close-ups of components.
Add some info and drop the price a bit and you should get more interest.

83-85 ST touring frame, 27" wheels. If it's Shimano 600 it's an ST500 or 800, probably a 19" frame. I agree with the prices suggested so far as is. Fully rehabbed, no frame refinish, new tires, tubes, cables & housing, maybe $300.

Thanks for the feedback. I was considering the bike for my daughter (it is too small for me). In retrospect, I may have been rash in making the offer. Even at $120, the bike will need to be serviced (hubs, bottom bracket, headset) and parts replaced/upgraded (cables, freewheel, handlebar tape, tires, tubes, brake levers, chain, and pedals). I am fully capable of the repairs and can get the parts at cost (I work as a bike mechanic), but it is still not a good buy for me. Although I'm no longer interested, hopefully this will help Ron in his sale. This forum is great!

Yea, what was I thinking, your first post, how cool!
Also, I assumed you were looking to buy this bike. Are you selling it? I really should get into the habit of reading the entire post before commenting.
