1985 Schwinn Peloton
I searched through the archives and found a few other '85 Pelotons appraised, but most seemed to have a lot of new components installed at one time or another.
So, I'm looking to see what this 25"/63.5cm 1985 Schwinn Peloton is worth as I shouldn't have picked up a frame this large. More/larger photos available here- LINK
The rims were replaced with Araya Aero 4 tubulars at one point by the previous owner, other than that most of the components are all original: Suntour Superbe Pro drivetrain, seatpost, and hubs, Cinelli stem and bars, MKS Esquart pedals, etc. The tires, especially the rear, are not in the greatest shape if that makes any difference. There are also a few nicks in the paint, but otherwise free of dents and large chips, etc.
Thanks for looking!

Too bad it's not a 24" frame, that is my size. I had a 56cm Peloton go through my hands and sold it in Oct 2010 for $375 in SoCal. It was original except for the front wheel had been radially laced onto the original hub with bladed spokes and was in VGC. Pic to follow.
I have not owned tubulars but I would not really want to deal with them but if I REALLY wanted that bike it would not stop me from buying it. Are you going to sell on Craig's list in Fargo? I bet it's still the dead of winter there so sales would be a bit slow now.
That is a BIG frame and will limit your audience but it's still a very nice bike IMHO. Obviously you have great pics if you decide to go ebay, maybe you got it on the bay, but it's a crap shoot for getting the most $$ for the bike there. I am sure a Schwinn expert will come along. Good luck.

I have a potential buyer already lined up, just trying to figure out a fair price. If that falls though I might try Craigslist, but I'll probably also list in Minneapolis.
I purchased the bike locally from the original owner, who was a good 2" taller than me. I originally wanted the Suntour bits even if the frame didn't work out, but now I'd rather just sell it and let someone have a nice bike in near original condition.

Around here, $325. Part out would net quite a bit more. XL frame holds value down.
