Cinelli Super Corsa

I purchased this bike with the intent to swap over the 8-speed Record parts onto my Merckx Corsa Extra but now I am not so sure about the wheelset, I think it might look out of place on a 1996 frame. If I were to sell it, what price would see it go quick? I don't want to get ripped off nor do I want to take weeks of time to sell it..

It has been sitting, unridden, for about 10 years but everything is in perfect working order. The shifting is crisp, the hubs spin forever and the rear makes that sweet, sweet Campy noise. The paint is just about perfect except for a little corrosion near the bottom bracket. I have the original fork and it looks to have never been installed.

I took a photo of the rear hub, even after sitting for that long, it has a nice sheen to it. I imagine that it would really sparkle with some elbow grease.

Everything is 8-speed Record except the headset which is a Stronglight. The seatpost is probably older than everything else, it is not of the aero style that one might expect on a bike like this. Rims are anodized Mavics with a red label, I don't know the exact model, how can I check this? Stem and bars are both Cinelli, the stem appears to be a 1A and the bars are Italia Campione.

Thanks!

The Record 8 speed parts seem to be climbing in price. I was recently in the market, as I am in the process of upgrading my Merckx to 8 speed Record. Personally, I don't think the wheelset would look out of place on a 1996 bike. They look like any other anodized Mavics at that time, save for the older stickers, it sounds like. I would think you could get $800 for the bike pretty easily and quickly (it is a little of a mismatch of parts [seatpost, pedals] and with non-original fork, though) and more parted out. You should seriously consider putting the parts on your Merckx, though.

I agree with Force. $800 for a quick sale but I think ebay would fetch you about $1,000. Put on the original fork. Sell the carbon one separate.

Yes, I was thinking in the neighbourhood of $1000 but I've seen ones in excellent shape hit $1500 and there are a few on eBay with BINs of over $2000, which I suppose is crazy.

Speaking of crazy, another notion entered my brain today----these 8-speed pieces on the Cinelli would look right at home on my '87 De Rosa. I could take the 10-speed Record stuff that is currently on the De Rosa and put it on the Cinelli and perhaps get $1200 for it with a modern drive train.

Do you guys think the older Campy stuff scares folks off? I like it and it is perfectly functional and don't need more than 16 speeds myself, perhaps a bike with a modern 20-speed drive train is more desirable?
