Mid to late 80's Raleigh Grand Prix 531/ 105
I'm interested in a mid to late 80's (I think) Grand Prix. Full 105
The seller is asking $200 or best offer. I have not gone to check the bike out but from the pics it looks pretty nice.
What is your opinion of the bike and cost? A sticker indicates it's Reynolds 531, but what about the fork and stays?

Holy Smokes! That's one clean looking machine. What are you waiting for? Lets be honest, a name is name is a name. Yes, a recognizable name can add value. But, what really is important is the tubing material, geometry, quality of components, and condition. This bike seems to get high marks in all categories. The chain stay says "racing geometry", but I see it better described as a Rando or sport geometry. In my high-priced West Coast area, that bike would probably be valued at 275-325 IMO. I think it looks like a winner.

Nice bike. 531 main tubes, chrome-moly stays and fork, but not Reynolds. Well worth $200. Here's a link to the 86 Raleigh catalog on The Headbadge.

Nice bike... I would go for it...
In fort collins CO... that would easily sell for $250. Tire and tubes likely need replacing... I would also get a white saddle to match.
If its for you to ride... I would go with $200 cash but start with an offer of $150.

I'm about to go over and look at it, it's in Longmont. I plan on riding it, although it won't be my main bike.

Did you get the bike...? I think one of my friends may have scooped you... if not he just picked up a very similar bike somewhere in northern Colorado.

They requested that I call them later (that day) to talk to the store owner (who is friends with the bike owner), after a couple calls and no return calls I give up for now. I'm going to call the owner of the Raleigh on the 3rd or 4th when he returns from Florida.
I'm sure an employee at the LBS snagged the bike. Oh well.
I did purchase a Carabela with nice Cyclone components, etc.. the paint on the TT is peeling off but otherwise a nice Champion #2 frame that I will enjoy working on.
