Bianchi Veloce

I'm thinking about a 2004 Steel framed Bianchi Veloce that has a mixture of Veloce and Centaur parts. It was the last year that Bianchi handmade the Veloce Frame in Italy before sending to the far east for manufacture. I bought it new in 2004 from Bicycle Odyssey in Sausalito, CA (and have the receipt) and it's got about 100 miles on it. Though its technically used, its in brand new condition. Unless its worth at least $750, I'll probably just keep it or give it to my nephew.

Someone will eventually have to start an appraisal sub-forum for newer bikes. I think, in the condition that you state, 750 would be a fair price. It retailed for 1600 back in ’04 according to Bike Pedia. I’m not sure that “Reparto Corse” meant in ’04 what it historically meant; but I’d be willing to wager that Bianchi, respecting the brand as I do, wouldn’t put that moniker on just any bike. This is a good time to sell, and Sausalito must be nice right now. Yeah, I think you’ll get it if you have a little patience and can post an attractive ad.

I would just like to point out that Bike Pedia lists this as an Aluminum framed bike. If your's is steel, we need to rethink this thing.

actually according to my source at Bianchi USA atleast here in the states at some point the Reparto Corse label was put on almost everything. the thought was it wouls increase the status of the bikes but all it did was trash the reputation of true RC bikes.

if the bike has a model name on the Top Tube, the is a sign it did not come from the RC shop. a RC frame usually was just refered to by the frame material and group when when offered as complete bikes. Bianchi EL OS Chorus or SBX Veloce, something like that.

I do agree on the value cane you post some more pics?
