Possible Trade involving Bianchi Road bike and Miyata MTB.

I have a Miyata Elevation 8000 MTB that I am considering trading for a Bianchi Campione Del Mondo. It has Campy Veloce components with Veloce STI shifters. Frame says lugged superset Bianchi Exclusive, Double Butted Dedaicci Cro-Mo tubing. Made in Italy and is celest in color. He says it is early 90's.

The Miyata is a Bonded Titianium Frame with a mix of Lx and Xt components that I rarely ride anymore, but it has a lot of sentimental value.

What are your opinions of the Bianchi's worth in terms of cash value? So that I might fully evaluate the trade.

Thanks

Mud

Further Research leads me to belive that it is 1997 Veloce.

I am a roadie and as anyone here knows I am a huge Bianchi fan, so it would be a no brainer for me to swapp. if you post some pics, I doubt few here are familiar with this Myata bike, it will help estimate the value of both.

The best swap is where you both get what you want. If the other party is looking for a MTB, and you are looking for a road bike, then it is a good deal.

Don't know anything about the bonded titanium Miyata, could probably find it easily enough by Googling, but based upon my overall experience with Miyata, I'm sure it is a great bike.

I'd say the Bianchi is worth somewhere in the $400 range, less if it's heavily used, more if it's mint. In the Campagnolo hierarchy, Veloce is comparable to Shimano 105 if that's at all helpful. If there are upgraded components or wheels, that may bump the value up a bit.

Not sure about the road bike as I am mainly an MTB person but I can say any ti framed MTB is gonna be pretty valuble, I saw a vintage Kona ti frame go for $600 on Pink Bike. You can buy new ti frames for about $1100, with front suspension, on bikes direct so $600 seems about right. I think (assuming the valuation is spot on) that you are losing more in the trade but if the bike is what you want it's not really a loss, maybe part it out and sell the frame separately and then just buy the Bianchi?
