Thrifty Bill
As is, $50 to $75. All cleaned up with matching tires, matching bottle cages, new cables, fully ready to ride, $150. Buyers of that era MTB do not pay extra for better components. They are looking for something that sparkles and is ready to ride. People buying project/dirty bikes are bargain hunters, who will clean it up and resell it at the higher price. I have had problems with that era shifter. How are they working?
Older MTBs get zero respect. The serious MTB riders want the latest and greatest: disc brakes, suspension, etc. That leaves you the recreational riders, that just want something good (and cheap) to ride with the kids.
Prices are Hooterville market (average market).

Since this thread is seven months old and the OP has never posted again, I don't you'll have much luck.
Just FYI, all sales and "want to buy" threads belong in the Marketplace forums.
