1986 trek 1500
I am listing this for sale today on Craigs List. It is like brand new. The original owner only put like a hundred miles and then put it into storage. I put a new saddle and new bar tape on it. Do you think $300 is a fair price. I would keep it but it is a little on the smaller side for me. (size 58) Thanks

Depends on your location for one. From the photo I can't really tell if the mileage is true, but the Trek bonded frames with downtube shifters aren't really high-demand bikes at this time.
I have an '88 2000 frame in nice shape that has had no bites at $100-$125 list.

$300 is too high for an aluminum frame Trek of that era. Around here, at that price level, you will start competing against STI bikes.

Well I listed it for $300 today and had a guy come out this evening and offer me $250. I went ahead and took it. I almost didn't want to let it go because it really was like a new bicycle. Unfortunately it was a little too small for me. I feel he got a good quality bicycle for a fair price.

Where I live it "might" have sold for $275 but for $300 it needs to be a lugged steel Trek IMHO. I say good job.

You'd be surprised how big a cycling community Anchorage, AK has up here. If bikedirect offered free shipping here I think used bikes would command less of a premium.

I ride the hell out of my 89 1400 with all 105s that i bought for $300 in 09. Had new tires. I have put over 6000 miles on it and wheels are true and i can lean it over coming down the mountains with no problem, like on a rail. I think i could get
$300 today because its 56 cm. I like it so i will keep riding it until i build my prologue frame. I think $300 was a fair price for your 1500, like the tri color, i have it on my Bianchi.
