Late 80's Guerciotti Carbon/Full Campy - Value?

Hi All-

I'm downsizing from my ranch with big garages to a condo in the city, so I have to downsize my belongings as well, which means this bike has got to go. I've found that this bike/condition is rare, and want to see what people think it's worth. The bike has less than 1000 miles on it, has been meticulously maintained (pls see photos), and was last ridden, by me, this past year. No crashes, never been down. There are slight scratches on the crankarms from my riding shoes, and maybe a minor nick here and there. The wheels could certainly stand to be trued up a bit.

I personally built this bike when I was a mechanic/sales guy at the Bike Rack II in Tampa, FL when I was a kid. The bike sat in the showroom for a few months, then I ended up buying it, and have had it ever since. It's all original, and has been stored indoors.

So what's it worth? Thanks!

Here's how it's spec'd:

Size:56c
Handlebars: Cinelli 66-40
Stem: Cinelli
Headset: Campy C Record
Rims: Campy Ypsilon
Hubs: Campy
Seatpost: Campy C Record
Bottom B: Campy C Record
Brakes: Campy Athena
F Der: Campy Athena
R Der: Campy Chorus (7-speed)
Shifters: Campy Syncro
Crank: Campy Athena
Freewheel: Regina 12-18 (I pushed a bigger gear in those days....)
Pedals: Time Crit on it now, but have original take-off Campy Victory's with flat cages & good Campy white leather straps
Saddle: Selle San Marco Rolls

I think that's it.....

I can't believe no one commented on this beautiful bike. it looks to have seen little use. the parts are some of my favorites.

if I was in the market for one I might go $600-700, however these Alan frames are always a bit of a risk. a buyer may have trouble free riding for years or it could break ina few days.

it is a lovely machine though

This is a very clean bike, there was a Vitus Carbon on ebay currently or just finished that last I saw was at $1,600. but it is all carbon. I would place the value higher than $700. , but it might take some time to obtain. The bike was from the Syncro period, so is burdened with that history. Nice Chorus ensemble, but I don't remember if the hubs are Chorus, I would have to reference a bit.

Hmmm... I'm not aware of any recalls on that bike. I'll have to check.

Composite frames get no respect around here. That bike would be a part out to get max value. YMMV

I am not certain they were recalled but I know the two i actually saw, one was broke and when we sent it back to 10spd Drive they replaced it (IIRC) a steel frame. there was something wrong with the other but I left the shop before that issue was completed.

it is a beautiful bike.

According to the guy (a Tri guy and RAAM rider) I bought my steel Guerciotti frame from: This steel Guerciotti was a back-up for his carbon Guerciotti, because he had snapped a carbon one in an earlier race. (he was sponsored by TSD at the time).

So the carbon ones do have some breakage history.

I do remember hearing about some of the earlier frames cracking/breaking. I've cranked on mine pretty hard the past few times I've ridden it and have been fortunate with no creaking or cracks.
