I found this on Craig's List for $125. The seller has not been forthcoming with information on it. He has invited me to come take a look though. I have looked at a couple of galleries of pics of those bikes (bertinclassiccycles.wordpress.com) and am excited on what I might find. Unless it is trashed, I can't imagine it not being worth $125. I asked the seller if it was from the 80's and he did not respond, so I will just have to wait. The bike is about 60 miles from where I live. Did they make a real cheap bike? Can't wait to see it! No pictures to show.

They made bikes in competition with the Peugeot UO8 on up. In the 70's color was a common model identifier. Black, C-37 top of the line save some special Red bikes that were beyond. Green, for the C-35, silver for the C-34. The basic bike often imported with cottered cranks came in a number of colors, white, turquoise, brown... But the C-35 also showed up in brown.

Bertin was small enough that often bikes were ordered with alternate component selections not found in the catalog.
