Need help identifying this bianchi ( i think it has mixed parts)
ok so i just bought a bianchi bike from a thrift shop for 10$
i dont know anything about it
heres what i can find:
it's red with chrome moldings on fork it has blue bianchi stickers and on the bottom bracket where the pedal thing is it says "1137" and it has:
sun tour clamp on frame levers for shifters
has sun tour sport front derailleur
has sun tour honor rear derailleur
has wienmann brake levers
has a back rim made in France "rigida Crolux** on it with a diamond stamped 74"chrome
has front rim unknown chrome
the drop bars don't have any markings
the stem says "jun" then "SR"
that's it
the original model stickers and identification stickers have been scratched beyond recognition or are gone with only the gummy residue left
i dont know anything about it

Thrifty Bill
Steel rims, claw derailleur hanger, Suntour Honor derailleur, cottered crank = bottom of the barrel, entry level bike. It needs a lot of work, maybe $25 as is.

up until the late '80s most component companies did not have a complete group for every $50 price point, so mixing was the only way to do it. of course something may have broken over the last 20+ years.

does it seem to be a sport ss or sx model and would it be worth fixing up to be an entry level racer ive never ridden a road bike before and want to try it out as the local bike races around here only allow road bike frames and i usually race around with my trek 4500
as of now its up to running condition after replacing a cotter pin that i over tighten and popped
ill post some pics tomorrow

I don't believe it is a Sport SS and SXs ran from '86-89 and were higher level bikes
this would make a good errand or campus bike but it is a bit heavy if you want ot start doing faster group rides or longer organized rides like MS tours ( incorrectly called "races" by many)

Judging by the red color and the derailleurs, I think this is a '81 (or maybe a '80) Standard. bottom of the Bianchi line w/ HiTen frame and steel wheels.
the catalog shows a side pull brake on the '81 so that is why i am suggesting it could be a '81.
