I have a Bauer woman's 3 speed bicycle. German made. New 26x1.75 white sidewall tires. Fully serviced and adjusted. Epper seat. Chrome fender are near perfect. Solid bike, built like Mercedes G wagon. Any idea as to what it is and what it is worth.(attached photos)

very neat bike ! You should post a thread in the regular C & V about it. I can't give you much advice about value though. Any markings on the rear hub?

It seems to be a Torpedo Dreigang SAC-S. By the way the seat is a Lepper Primus leather. Why is it so hard to get any info on this bike? It seems the company has been around long before WW2.

553 hits on bike forums for Bauer bicycles through google. Almost all of the threads start with: "I can't find any information on Bauer bikes..." A lot of them have to do with the Canadian or Asian version (not yours).

Search for "bauer german bicycle" and you only get 57 hits, much more readable.

Realize almost all of the info on the web on particular vintage brands are not hosted by or created by the brand. Instead, they are created by someone who really likes the brand. So some brands have a stronger following than others. The lack of interest by the individual bike companies is kind of striking.

There are lots of brands out there "available" for adoption by someone who has the time, patience, and love for the brand.
