Help Appraising a Bianchi Brava (with Campione Del Mondo decal)

Hi,

I already bought this bike - I went to take a look, road it around the block a few times and fell in love.

But I was curious to know whether I got a fair price for it. It's actually the first bike I've ever bought! (I just learned to ride last year and have been using a loaner).

Here's what I know: it is definitely a Japanese-made Bianchi Brava. It has all Shimano 105 components. It's black with Celeste trim, has a "Campione Del Mondo 1986-1987 Colorado Spring" decal on it, and is pretty much in mint condition. The owner hadn't been using it the last half a decade and it has been stored inside.

You can actually see the c-list post here: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik/2523636445.html

Any ideas about what year this bike was made and what the current value is?

I ended up paying $280 - keep in mind I'm in the Bay Area, where bikes seemed to be way over priced.

Thanks guys!

Can you post better more detailed pictures... difficult to see what condition it is in. I'm guessing value is around $250 plus or minus $25-$50 depending on your market and condition of the bike. If you like it and can ride it as it is and it needs little work... $280 probably isn't bad in the Bay Area but in a short time the bike may need new tires, cables, chain, and a tune up.

did you buy the bike in the link? or a different bike? the one in the link looks like a Torquise with white decals.

the bike in the link looks like a '87 Brava with a Tange DB chromoly main frame, mangalloy stays and chromoly fork. great riding bike. it would be a bit older than 8 years more like 21ish

the Campion del Mondo sticker has nothing to with the model or value of the bike. that sticker simply commerates a Bianchi being ridden to victory at the '86 world championships.

$280 is an OK price depending on condition. better pics?

Bianchi Identification...

I see this is a very common quest on this site. Bianchi identification looks challenging. From what I have read Bianchigirl and T-mar know what they are talking about. If you guys wouldn't mind helping me out with one I would really appreciate it.

I am interested to find out about this bike. If anyone can give me an answer that would be great. I have done quite a bit of research but nothing comes up that gives me a definitive answer. I have seen similar bikes in the traditional Bianchi color schemes. However, I have not seen this exact bike anywhere.

Bianchi Campione Del Mondo
Steel butted frame
Columbus Forks
I think EL-OS
Has made in Italy sticker
Mirage 9
Mavic Wheels

Hello SFSLDR, welcome to the forums. nice looking Bianchi. can you post some better pics? lugs, BB area, seat, and the sticker on the left chainstay if there is one. is the color a bright or dark red?

post the pics and new info here https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ication/page13

BTW don't get hung up on the Campione del Mondo decal, it is on almost all Bianchis in some form.
