How to identify a Bianchi
I have just purchased a Bianchi but it is not known what year or model it is.
Does anyone have any insight to narrow down the year or model? Any help is appreciated.

If you post some pictures, there are some very knowledgable folks here who can tell you. What you are asking without pictures is a bit vague. Bianchi has been making bikes since 1885.

Well said!! in some cases it can be narrowed down to a few years depending on the style of the decals and the components matched with them. but without pics there is no way to know.

You may find date stamps on the derailleurs and cranks, and the decals did indeed change distinctively every few years. Even a low-end Bianchi can be a very decent bike, and the mid-to-upper models will hold their own against almost anything out there.

OY! the frame started life as a '85 and the same tubing was shared on most frames, asuming they are original, from the Limited on up the line. the abscense of chrome on the chainstay puts it on the level of Nuovo Alloro or Trofeo. if they are the original tubig decals they appear to be the only thing left from the factory, even the Bianchi decals are wrong for the age of the tubing. '85 seems to be, here in the US anyway, the only year for the Bianchi Special tubing, in '86-87 it was Formula 1 or 2. as was noted about the fuji in the other thread atleast they brazeons are still there!
the paint looks really good on this, what are your plans? if your thinking of making it a road bike again I would go with Victory/Triomphe or a Ogmega/Modolo/ Campi Nuovo blend like a Trofeo or Nuovo Alloro respectivly.

I did a Google search on 85 Bianchi Nuovo Alloro and found the link below. From what I can tell you're dead on.

One of my first thoughts when I got this bike was restore it to it's original state but it might take me a while to come up with all the campy components. I wouldn't mind replacing the carbon for with an original steel fork but it looks like those might be hard to find. If I am able to figure out how to replace the head badge and decals I will repaint it.
For now I will simply ride it 'as is' as a daily commuter / Saturday club ride.

Constant tinkerer
I would get rid of that awful wheelset though. Heavy, probably not aero, and not durable due to the stupid paired spoke design.

Help me identify
Hello, i have a problem with identification a Bianchi frame that id like to buy, i ve made a research, and i couldnt find anything about this one. Im not sure if its truly Bianchi. The inscription says "Sport U28 - 5 Vel Positron", google says nothing. I was comparing the welds style, and they seems to be not like the rest Bianchi welds in other frames. Could you help me identify it, please?

Are there any decals, other than those put on by previous owners? If there is that may help figure out an approximate year. Most of us are pretty good at figuring out what a bike is but honestly your not giving us much to work with. Is there a brand name on the headset? What are the components?
Assuming it is a Bianchi it would fall into the '

It has got only the original decals, I will take pictures from it. It's equipped with M739 set, within two hours I will check the rest.

The Nth bikes (aside from one full suspension) are not in the standard catalog but the special Reparto Catalog from '93. So not ever having seen any or in person and not really seeing them in the back of the catalog I didn't recognize the decals.
I would certainly clean it up real good but hold off on the paint until we figure out what it is. It likely isn't worth thousands of dollars but your not likely to get replacement decals unless you go to a real high repainter who can replicate them.
