1983 TREK 600. Is it worth $400 in mint condition 60cm frame ?
Hi folks, I just saw a '83 Trek 600 in mint condition for $400, is it worth it. I've heard good things about it, can anyone tell me more about this bicycle ? Is it good for long distances? Suntour BL, but not sure what type of steel. Thanks.

Trek catalogs are all on line, just search for vintage Trek and you will find it. Suntour BL is middle of the line, pretty good, but not great. $400 is way too high. Steel Treks are desirable, but not that much.

It would be Reynolds 531C which is nothing to sneeze at, but I agree $400 is too much. I'd say more like $300 would be a fair price. I suppose if it's truly mint and 100% ready to ride $350 wouldn't be out of the ballpark.

I got it, the Trek 600 is mine! Pictures are on the link attached. I took it for a spin and was hooked, very smooth. I negotiated the price down and was happy. Thanks guys.

That looks like my size, can I have it?
Nice find and the description of mint looks like the truth. The fact that you are happy with it is outstanding.
The position of the brake levers is a bit funky but whatever works for you. Ride the tar out of it.

If you bought that lovely old Trek for under $400, then you did great, in my opinion.
I am about to offer a Trek for sale, a 420 Series with triple crank rings and in very nice shape. Sadly, or happily, not sure anymore, the Trek is too big for me...
