Lipstick on a pig.

I'm new here and new to vintage, but what is now vintage used to be new to me. About a month ago I purchased a 1974 Sprite in questionable condition with the hopes of using it to commute to work. She cleaned up nicely and is very roadworthy now with a functioning Dynohub and lights. Even the old speedometer works. Having ridden a modern road bike on the same commute, I found today's ride to be very comfortable. Shifting and breaking were more than adequate. New tires, tubes and cables were the only necessary updates, but I splurged and added a Brooks saddle and leather grips. My initial $20 investment is one of the best I've ever made.

You are a terrific group and I always enjoy reading the posts here.

Only mistake I see is that you didn't post pics.

Welcome to the group!

Thanks! I posted this on the wrong forum! Can a moderator move this to Classic and Vintage?
