80's Bianchi info/value?
So, I have the opportunity to buy a Bianchi. The price seems pretty good and its my size, but before I go further I'd like to get some more into on it. The seller doesn't have any idea about the model or exact year (80's is all they could narrow it down to). They do have the serial #, which is JS16300. As you can see from the picture its not even close to original, but I don't need it to be. Any ideas on the model, year, tubing, and value would be greatly appreciated.

it looks like maybe a '83ish Special or maybe Sport SS something like that from Japan. those decals were pretty much gone in '84.
it looks like it needs a bit of work, new bartape, a FD and either chainwheel or maybe a whole new (or used) crankset to make it a 10 or 12 spd again. I am not sure just what they are but the brake levers are not stock. I also believe this would have a manganese frame or possibly a tretubi chromo and manganese.
the resellers will know better than I but I would say no more than $75 to 100 especially if you want to resell it yourself in the spring
.
h it is certainly a Japanese production bike whatever it is

I was hoping you'd post! I knew it wasn't anything special. They're asking $150 with a bunch of extra parts to convert it to a flat bar SS, but I'm sure I can get it down to $100 or less without all that stuff. The paint looks great, though.

1982 Japanese model. Based on the chromed stays, wheelbase and fork rake, I'm leaning towards a Limited.
