1980's Schwinn Super Sport tourer
http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/bik/2669771024.html
for sale a TRUE 18 speed Touring bicycle ...Super Sport by Schwinn in the 80's. reduced for fall sale..about a 23.5 or 24" frame.. 195.00 All tuned up and ready to ride.. http://images.craigslist.org/5Z55T35...6afec31fc5.jpg I looked through the online Schwinn catalogs and can't find an exact match for this bike, given the ad states it is an 18-speed tourer. The early '80's Super Sports were 12-speeds, and the later 80's models were racing or triathlon bikes. So I'm guessing it is something like an '81 with a triple added later? And is it worth $195? I think the seller has priced it about right, given that it is ready to ride. I believe it could fit me. |
1983 Super Sport, with a triple crank added later. $195 is about right, assuming condition is very good.

This is not a "true touring bike." Was a 12 speed, with the triple added later. Price is fair, would be on the high side here but this isn't Detroit. |
Thanks, guys. Actually, I bet Oshkosh is a better market than Detroit for bikes at this time.

The 82 Super Sport was a 15 speed with a 34-46-52 Sugino triple.
