Ideale Saddle - Swallow Type?
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a bike with this old Ideale saddle on it. I was able to find very little information about this particular saddle, so I was wondering if any of you could tell me what you think it is worth? Thank you.

Keep an eye on this auction. That should answer the question regarding value. Of course, the one in the auction is in much better shape than the one presented by the OP.

Randy, it's not like others haven't seen that auction - but why point it out?
(Has been on my watch list but it looks like it'll get too high for me)
I might'a been able to steal a newbie's saddle
Edit: actually, that's a different auction than I had on my list. HERE'S another one. With two at the same time we should get an even better idea of value. (for non-rusty examples)

I am the OP and was wondering what I need to do to improve the looks of my saddle. I know this is probably a silly question to many of you, but I have never owned a leather saddle before and do not want to ruin it. Thanks.

Sheldon has an article on leather saddles which includes a section on care: https://sheldonbrown.com/leather.html
Having never owned a leather saddle, I have no idea if yours can be brought back to good condition. It looks pretty rough at the moment.
