Rough estimate - Centurion LeMans

Hey guys just wanted to get a rough idea of what you might pay for this bike. I don't know much about the brand at all, I'm more familiar with Japanese bikes. The pictures aren't that great but its all I've got.

Thanks,
Seth

I believe mine was a 1987. I think if you look at the second number in the serial number it will tell which year it was made. If it is an 8, yours would be 1988 or so on.

Seth - I'm not a Centurion expert (almost none exist in this area) but I do know that it's a well respected UJB. That appears to be in very nice condition so I'd estimate $175, or even a few bucks more.

Condition is everything, and it is hard to tell from those photographs. The bike doesn't appear to be reconditioned (lubed, new cables, etc.). In its present condition, it might be worth $100-$150 as a keeper. As a flip, I wouldn't pay more than $75. Also, Centurion is a Japanese bike brand.

I wouldn't go over $125 on this. I owned this exact model and it was OK, but nothing exceptional. Go with an Ironman if you like Centurions.

I had the black and yellow version, a 1986 I believe, with a Tange 2 frame and I thought it was an excellent riding bike. It brought $300 on the bay about 3 years ago.

I got my '83 Le Mans 12 free, the frame that is. Found it totally stripped of all but fork in a roadside ditch.
It had been repainted a crappy black. I stripped that back to the original gold, sparing the decals &
clear coated it. It is now my beloved retro-roadie, 40 yr.old Rigida chromax wheels, Suntour perfect 15/34,
and a 50 yr old Brooks B-72. Not for sale at any price.

Actually, I did post a couple there somewhere, no big deal; it's pretty ugly. It has an old rat trap rack modified
with aluminum tubing to prevent heel strike from my 14 feet. That's the beauty of it; it doesn't look like
anything you'd want to steal, but it rolls & handles like a dream. The Suntour 15/34 is perfect for a big old
geezer like me. Rather than a 12 tooth, it lets me keep a higher cadence with less effort. Those steel wheels
carry a lot of centrifugal force once you get 'em moving. I put some cheapy top thumbs shifters on MB bars
& stem with touring bar ends wrapped with pipe insulation & camo duck tape, really ugly but very comfy.

You rock 14s and fit that frame? Surprising.
No need to sell it short- a mechanically great bike in rough condition is perfect for many people's around town needs.

...anti-theft patina. Supplement with a little duct tape and some peeling latex paint and you are golden.
