Help needed identifying a frame
Hi,
I've had a clearout of a communal storage room in our building and found an old frame under some dustsheets. No-one claimed ownership so I've adopted it myself, but I've got no idea what manufacturer or model it is. If anyone can give me some pointers that would help identify it I'd be extremely grateful.
Some details you probably can't make out in the picture below are:
* The derallieur has "SunTour Honor" stamped on it, and I think it's this one here: https://www.disraeligears.co.uk/Site/...ur_(1100).html
* The brake lever has a capital "LH" stamped in an oval and "PAT APP 642251".
* The bolt holding the handlebar post on has cursive letters "LU" on its head also in an oval.
* The stickers on the frame read "Royal Enfield" and "Villiers II", and the handlebar post and seat post have "RE" in a triangle. I've searched the Internet but I've not got any results for this so I suspect these were added by the previous owner.
If you want any close-up detail shots of anything let me know and I'll post them.
Once I've worked out what it is I can decide what to do with it.
Cheers,
Mike

The brand is Royal Enfied and it is English. The model is Villiers II. Based on the components it is at or near the bottom of the lightweight line. It also looks older than 1983 to me, unless the brand had degenerated to deparment store status. Poor condition, neglible value. IMO, a parts donor.

Hi T-Mar,
Thanks for looking at this for me - I appreciate your help.
Based on the info I'll probably give it a quick wipe down, put the back wheel back on and just try to punt it out on FreeCycle.
Cheers,
M

+1 The cottered crank and low-end suntour bits make it a free-cycle goodie. If I were in your area, I'd fix it up or donate it to pedals4people. Someone will make good use of it.

Interesting bike not a lot of value Royal Infield was on of the many lesser brands that Raliegh marketed bikes under in the 70's to mid 80's. You could maybe part it out if you could use the parts for other bikes or just put it back together and list for $75 on cl and see if you can sell it. I wouldn't spend to much time or effort in trying to fix it up it's doubtfull you would get much in way of return for the efforts.
