Found an interesting Miyata 610 on craigslist today

Not looking but never seen one like this before. Handmade?

Looks to be in pretty good condition if any Bay Area'ers are looking.

$625 is crazy for a Miyata 610

Thats a really old one, when that model was very, very basic. Stem shifters, turkey levers, I guess it shows how crazy SF market is. Around here, $225 would be pushing it, likely less.

+1

Looks like a case where a seller put on a bunch of extras in the hopes of increasing the value (lights, lock, helmet, etc.) AND went with an insane asking price. The touring racks and stuff are good, but I would still put it at less than $200.

Do these really pull this kind of cash?

No they do not. Second guy is dreaming. At least his is the preferred later model, with a better frame and canti brakes. XL size is a huge negative.

The OP's bicycle is a 1981 model, while the 2nd posting appears to be the 1985 version. While grand touring models do fetch a premium over standard road models, both are aggressively priced.

Unless you're tall.

If you're selling it, it is.

Yeah I figured it was super high but handmade on the badge made me think it might have been a rare model or something. Were those models always hand built?

At least it is in good condition from what you can see.
