I'm going to guess Sirrus. Your best bet is to check out the catalog archive at retrobike.co.uk, and flip through the early 90's catalogs. Pay attention to the color options for each year, and that should get you in the ballpark. The large vinyl decals on this one aren't original.

Is this a bike you've already acquired, or one you're considering buying?

Now that I think about it, the Sirrus may have disappeared by the early 90's, so it's probably an Allez...

Chris,

I think the Sirrus was still around in the early 90's; didn't it come with RSX at one point?

I'm guessing a mid to late 80's Allez, based on the raised swoosh on the top of the SS. The decals make me
think of a Team issue frame set, given that they're raised with no clear coat.

theopowers... does it say 'Specialized" down the front of both fork blades? If so, it very well may be a Team Issue bike
using a stock, un-decaled Allez frame with add-on accoutrements. Sinyard's boys were known to do that for small teams
back then...

It doesn't have anything down the front of the forks, no. It certainly has occurred to me that it was a one-off or small batch paint job for whatever reason.

I already own it - bought it for my girlfriend but it is bigger than advertised. Not necessarily trying to value it here, maybe I should have posted it in the vintage section instead.

I have lots of very nice very high end vintage road bicycles and none ride better than my beat up, dented and uglified Specialized Something-or-Other. That bike is light, fast and handles through thought power alone. What a nice bicycle. My guess is that, given a chance, you will love your bicycle...

It's a Sirrus. That color scheme was availalble only for one year (maybe 89).

I did a google search for images for Sirrus 86-90. Didn't see this color scheme, though that's not decisive.

Yes, the unicrown fork is what's throwing me, I thought the 80's bikes all had a traditional crown? Can you post some more photos in natural lighting?
