Is this a good value or just average?

At $400, not a good value. Probably late 80's, not early 90's. Pretty much a $150 to $175 bike, unless you're in a hot market.

$400 = great deal for seller.

Better than $150 here, more like $225. Is frame Italian or Asian? Italian would give it a slight premium bump.

Rear brake cable routing needs to be redone: different routing + longer housing.

$400 is a reach for that bike. If the frame was Celeste, maybe in the $300 range. As is maybe $225-$250.

+1 The bike is from the 80s. That 600 group is from the early-mid 1980s, still friction shifting.

I'd put it at $250-300 here. Bianchis get a good response and the 600 group is on the upper end, although it's probably the least popular of the 600 groups.

Thanks for the feedback folks! That is about what I was thinking. I don't know whether it is a Japanese or Italian frame as I can't see any stickers and haven't contacted the seller. If anyone wants to contact the seller, go ahead, you won't be stepping on my toes. :D

I it an '85 Limited with a Bianchi Special by Columbus frame/fork (same frame used on most of the Italian bikes that year) and 600EX as specced. That is preindex or SIS so this should have friction shifters. Someone did change the brakelevers for what look like a DiaCompe aero style though.

For $400 this bike should be much cleaner. But I agre $200ish seems like a fair deal to me.
