Need Help Identifying Vintage Bianchi Track Bike (I've tried my best)!
Hello everyone! I recently picked a bike up of an old track rider to try and get into the track scene since I finally have a Velodrome within a reasonable distance to me. The previous owner told me it was a late 70's early 80's frame but I would like to narrow it down some more if possible. What I know about the bike:
It's Italian made and has an Italian bottom bracket. Has a Columbus Tretubi sticker on the downtube and the lugs at the seat post have circled B's in them along with the fork. It still has the original Gipiemme hubs, and cranks and a Ofmega headset. The rest of the bike is not original to it. Heres 2 pictures:
When I originally got it

Before the new parts

I really love the bike and can't wait to finish it but I'm super curious as to what is is as I haven't been able to find too many Bianchi's from this era that came as track bikes. Serial number for reference is: 2D-850
Any help is greatly greatly appreciated as it is driving me nuts.
Thanks!

New parts? what was wrong with the old parts?
I think it is an '83 or '84 Eco Pista. what were the cranks, hubs and rims on it?

83 or 84 sounds about right.
Was an Eco Pista a lower model because I thought Tretubi made it more desirable? I don't know much about these bikes.
Thank you!

Bianchi made two pista frames back in the day, the Eco and the Super. Yours is an Eco and was the lower end version but still an excellent bike.
TreTubi means the frames three main tubes were constructed from Columbus tubing, probably Aelle, and the rest would have been something lower end but still probably Columbus.
The Super Pista would have all the tubes made out of higher gauge Columbus tubing, probably SP or SL, and would have been built with a Campagnolo pista group.
You might find your bike in one of the Bianchi catalogs posted here:
