I inherited this bicycle and it has been sitting in my garage for years so i've decided to sell it. It is a vintage Pogliaghi frame with original decals. It is fully stocked with a Shimano Ultegra factory kit including Shifters, Brakes, Crankset, Rear Derailleur, Front Derailleur, Chain, Casette, Bottom Bracket. Also include Syntace C2 Aerobars and Rolf Vector Pro wheels. It has a view chips on the paint job and is also dusty from sitting in the garage for 5 years but other than that it's in great condition. Just needs a quick tune up and your ready to roll! From my research I think $1000 would be a fair asking price but I wanted an opinion from the experts!

Bump, added pictures!! Please help me out guys.

This looks like a later, Basso built Pogliaghi, whereas 9110 would indicate a much earlier frame. Do you have a picture showing the serial number?

Kind of hard to see because im using my laptop cam, and it is backwards. I just cam back from 2 different cycle shops, one told me 700 the other said 800-1000?

The frame is probably from '90s, and the serial number is irrelevant. Early Pogliaghi's had the serial number on the seat lug, along with "PSM" stamp, which later moved to the head tube. By 1990s, this is basically a generic Italian racing frame, which is still very nice. I don't like the look of reduced spoke Rolf wheels with the lugged steel frame, but it could be just me. This may be a case where selling the frame, components and wheels separately could make sense. I would put the fair value between $500 and $800.

Dont listen to bike shops for a price. The ultegra stuff just isnt valuable. The frame is nice! If it had record on it that would be a different story. I agree with Metin about the price. try ebay...might suprise us. Looks like a nice size so you could have Japanese buyers intersted. Good luck

I would ditch the aero bars, straighten out the angle of the handlebars and sell it like that. You can toss in the aero bars but IMHO they are usless unless you are actually timetrialing or going to be.

I think I spy a Columbus SL decal.

Aero bars with a triple crank. That bike is ready for anything!

Yes, they are SL.

They are a very nice riding bicycle.

I used to own one just like it.

Mostly DA on mine.

Your value is in the frame, not the components.

Maybe $600, but probably closer to $450.

Orodir 05-10-12 07:47 PM

Yes, there is a sticker under the seat which reads Columbus SL, what does that mean?

Bianchigirll 05-10-12 09:19 PM

That is the manufacturer of the tubing and the grade. SL was the gold standard for Italian tubes for years and is still very good stuff.

Very cool. Thank you for all the good information everyone. I've decided to sell it for $600 OBO
