Old Raleigh Twenty

There's an old Raleigh Twenty near me for $60 in adequate shape, would it be worth it to buy and how much would it cost to fix up and sell and how much are they worth in good shape?

BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY. You can spend whatever you want to fix it up. I've got about a grand into mine. Alloy rims, suspension seat post, Phil Wood BB, Origin8 cranks, Sturmey Archer 8 speed hub, etc, Its a game we play on the internet. https://www.raleightwenty.webs.com/

Not worth it unless you have the tools/time/aptitude to rehab it. Its really easy to get upside down on a project. They are best suited for someone ready to do the work all themselves. Bike shops around here charge $65 to $75 an hour for labor. Its easy to burn through a lot of cash that way.

The good news is even if you do not have the tools or the aptitude, if there is a co-op in your area, they can provide both.

In great shape, ready to ride, they bring around $150 here.

I see a fair amount of rust, nothing bad, but all will take time to remedy. I also see old tires, a dirty bike, and it would be safe to assume bike will need full bearings and grease, and probably cables and housings.

Folding bikes have a small following, as nearly as I can tell, and rarely fetch much when offered for sale. In fact, I tend to give them away, these days, knowing that they will not be easy to get rid of for any decent value.

Looks like an ok deal. Not a great deal, but a fair deal. If it were near me I'd pick it up.

A nice one would be worth about $125-$150. Most old folders aren't worth anything, but the Raleigh Twenty isn't most old folders.
