Late 70s Bianchi Super Corsa?
Hi
I recently purchased what I am told is a Bianchi Super Corsa on ebay for £190. It seems to be an amazing bargain. I was just wondering if anyone knew any more information about the bike and knew of the approximate age? I think it's from the 70s.
It seems to be in pretty good condition and is predominantly equipped with Shimano Dura Ace EX/7200 components I think. Are these considered to be good or should i look to fit age correct Campagnolo parts instead?
I am going to switch the seatpost, seat and bar tape but was also thinking about having the bike stripped and resprayed in the Bianchi turquoise/Celeste colour. Would this be considered sacrilege? Should I stick with the original colourway?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Terry

Nice bicycle and welcome to the Bike Forums.
Have a look at How Old Is My Bike?, and you will be able to have a bit of fun figuring out the vintage of your bicycle yourself.
Is it a good bicycle? You bet and you can learn how to determine that by looking through Bicycle Quality.
As for painting the bicycle, it is your bike and you can do as you please, however; you might want to weigh the pros and cons of doing so, and Should I Paint My Bike? can help you with that concern.
Again, welcome to the Forums and keep us in the loop as your build progresses.

my name is Jim
Definitely could be a very late 70s Super Corsa. Looks like the fork has been painted as I have never seen a Bianchi with a different color fork.

Hello Welcome to the forums. Nice looking Bianchi.

Only you can really decide to repaint a bike but as others have said here "it is only original once". A good paint job with correct decals and clearcoating will run $400+. Personally all I would do is maybe change the seat to something I like/am more comfortable on and ride it. Also stripping to a bare frame cleaning and waxing may be in order here. Then cleaning and relubing all the components.
is the adjusting barrel for the front brake missing? or is is just not installed?
As to the components.... I would leave the DA on there as EVERYONE has an old Bianchi with Campi on not not many have an old Bianchi with vintage DA.
