Wanting a NOS Italian Frameset...
I'm very interested in obtaining an authentically new-old-stock, late-70s era, Italian road frame. Any well-made brand would do, in a 56cm (center-to-center) sizing.
I've been looking for years on eBay, and even some of the European on-line vintage supply sources, but so far, no deals.
I realize that actual NOS will be quite rare (especially in this size!), but maybe someone here (or a contact) would have such an example in their private stock that they may consider selling.
Anyway, hopefully someone out there will know of such a deal...
Thanks,
Jim

I think Tommassini makes some new old style, lugged steel frames, just saying.

Best be pretty big. I think I would just find a really nice used example. They're out there but take some looking. I would certainly hunt after the less well known brands and Italian cottage builders. Could get some pretty nice stuff at a good price.
After you get your Italian, then I would very patiently start looking for NOS examples, but be prepared to pay. And since you're looking for one, you likely won't find it. But you may find something else if you stay open to it. I think small American builders are undervalued, for example.

+1 I agree NOS 30yo frames and deal do not go togather in the same sentence.
I would consider finding some really nice and consider a quality restoration.

(Ebay.it) might have a few surprises. You can find barn finds there. Original old used italian bikes at garage sale prices. Look under "vintage". . .

eBay has a NOS Merckx in 56cm, BIN price around $800.
Toosahn has a NOS Giordana on The Paceline, lovely frame but I think it's a 57. Still- for $300, a steal.
