First off, does your dad know you have his frame?

A few dents means far from mint. No matter how you cut it, it cuts the value significantly.

While not Mint I don't see any actual dents some minor scrapes and dings. You need to give a little better description and maybe some pics of the damage flaws. Mint is a offend miss used term when it comes to classic vintage goods, mint means all original perfect condition no flaws no or little fading patena usaualy with original packaging and documentation.

Flip it over and look for identification marks on the BB shell.
Research from there. The frame is similar to my '78 Masi gran Crit. frame
On my frame I know size, year it was made, which 1/4 of the year it was made, and production # of said 1/4 year and where it was built(by the year not the #). MC62 C7848 is all mine has stamped on it.
Take a peek and let us know.

Some strange stuff here. It appears to be a Cinelli but...

The decals, the tubing decal in particular, the holes in the lugs would point to a 70s SC. But the fork crown is not an SC crown, it is more like a Mod. B crown. The top tube cable braze ons would also place the bike in the late 70s at the earliest but the tubing sticker then doesn't match up. The head badge also appears to be a decal which also doesn't match up. There is no model designation decal on the seat tube either. Some strangeness here. More and clearer pictures would help. Why do you say it has Cinelli forks? What identifies the forks as Cinelli to you?.

It either hasn't been sitting around since '69-70 or it has had an extensive restoration with a lot of stuff added. A '69-70 Cinelli would not have brazed on top tube cable guides, nor would it have brazed on shifter bosses, I don't think it would have had that bottom bracket, nor would it have bottle cage bosses, nor would it have titanium anything as original equipment, it would have had a real head badge not a decal, etc., etc. Something is not right here.

That Cinelli is from the 80's, in my opinion. Either that, or someone went to a lot of trouble to disguise a sixties bike to look eighties. The rear drops are, for me, a dead 80's give away.

As for mint, there ain't no such thing, as nearly as I can tell. And a single dent will dramatically decrease value to any knowledgeable buyer. As for the value of the frame and fork, that is going to be a crap shoot. Determining Vintage Bicycle Value is tricky and depends on many things, come of which have nothing to do with the bike at all. Location, marketing skills, time of year and the like all impact value.

That said, a mint Cinelli, like the one pictured, if it is mint, would be worth a thousand dollars, or more, in my opinion. But with that dent, depending on its location and size, could cut the value in half. Again, that comment is based on opinion.

The image you show on the Cinelli Only site is also from the 80's, or very very late 70's. Note the graphic style of the frame the mature frame builder is holding are the later type, not the earlier type seen on your frame.
As stated before, the things don't add up fully details change yes, but Cinelli was quite linear in their progression of evolution.
Your frame falls out of the norm by quite a bit.
My personal take is the frame got repainted, braze ons added and it required a new fork for whatever reason fitted as part of the respray.
Someone might pay $1,000 as it presents well, but I think a devotee to the brand would not even bid.

Cinelli dealer says I have a 1978 SC... It is a relatively rare bike- It was the one year where Cinelli used a decal on the headtube rather than a headbadge. It was a transition year when Cino Cinelli sold the company to Antonio Columbo. I owned one (in red) from this year and it is one of two from that year that I have seen. Yours is the third I've seen in 17 years.

The bikes that I've seen from that year have fully-sloping fork crowns, but there were lots of variations over the years, and, despite the semi-sloping crown on its fork, it looks like it belongs on that bike.
