That's a very large bike. If it fits you and it's fully functional, it may be worth the price as you may not have a lot of options in your size. Others are better qualified to assess these, but it's not a high end model so it has no value other than as a good ride. That seat needs a lot of work to. But the first thing to do is figure out what size you need.

I like vintage Peugeots a great deal. If you can do your own maintenance go for it. However, since you're asking members of this forum, I would think you have limited experience with bike maintenance. Otherwise, fuggedaboutit. You'll be shelling out what the asking price is again for tires, other parts and an overhaul, for a bike worth about what the asking price is today.

Peugeot is bottom end and rough. Pass. That Trek looks like a smokin hot deal, most likely gone already.

Looks like a skip to me; it appears to need a complete overhaul. Older Pugs of this level are worth about 150 if overhauled and ready to ride. Maybe fifty if in this kind of shape. It looks like a lot of stuff will need to be replaced.

If that bike is your size, you will find they are fairly common in that size and hard to move. I'd wait. I've found very nice bikes in that size range for very little. They're much harder for sellers to move (ask wrk above if you don't believe me); don't let anyone tell you different. Don't be afraid to walk away. Another 62cm will come along. Just up the way in RVA, seller has been trying to move this one for a while:

+1 Pass on the Peugeot. It's not worth that much in that condition.

60-62cm should be a good starting point. That Peugeot might've even been a little tall for you.

Keep looking, you'll find something. To get the best deals (that Trek for example) you need to act NOW and won't have time to ask if it's a good deal.

All original lower end 70's Peugeot with history IE significant wear milage basically means pretty everything on the bike likely needs to be replaced or repaired. I would pass on this there are plenty of basicaly good working decent vintage road bikes on the market in the $100-300 price range.
