1970's AO-8/UO-8 Peugeot Road Bike
Here's what I'm looking at: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv...134130295.html
I cant tell if its a AO-8 or a UO-8. Is this bike worth the $100 or am I getting ripped off?
Also, I currently own a Trek miltitrack 700. The frame is 21"/53.5 cm. I have no clue what year it is. I don't like this bike because it is huge and very heavy.

How much do you think i can sell this for?

If you aren't into wrenching your own bikes, I'd stay away from this Peugeot. The saddle is nice, but this bike is 35 or more years old and is no cream puff, it looks well used. You could well spend 150% of acquisition cost getting it renewed. It has the original Simplex rear derailleur, sure to have worn jockey wheels. Identical replacement Simplex Prestige derailleurs are expensive. The down tube shifters were moved to the stem which is an odd setup.
That does not look like a 58cm frame to me, it looks smaller, about the same frame size as your Trek.
I love the 700 Multitrack and recently upgraded mine with Deore cranks and RD. It's not light, but it is a comfy tourer/utility bike. The difference between it and a drop bar road bike is akin to a older 7 series BMW vs. a more up to date 3 series. If you're not in the Hollywood Hills, Los Feliz, Chinatown/Downtown, or Pacific Palisades, you've got pretty flat terrain, so weight should not matter too much.
Your Trek as-is can likely bring $100-$120. Here's my Multitrack, it needs a slight tweak and will be perfect.

Constant tinkerer
A few observations:
1) "Ready to ride..." is BS. The cables are old and rotten as is the bar tape and I can't tell but the chain might be rusty. Replacement fork suggests a crash, this bike has seen better days. Frame damage is a possibility.
2) I would not consider the Peugeot worth $100. In its present state, maybe $25-40. Cottered crank, steel rims, etc. Your Trek is better and probably lighter!
3) I think you should be able to get about $100 for the Trek. It is a newer-ish model and appears to be in quite good condition.

Want a light weight road bike in a hot mkt like LA is going to take a larger budget, 2 to 3X.
Note to below, while scoring deals at garage sales, thrift stores, etc., is great, it is very competitive. Around here, scoopers camp out at the door to the backroom, waiting for anything: bikes, whatever to roll out. Unless you are standing there, the bikes are long gone. In addition, bikes at garage sales and thrift stores always need work, often a lot of work. People tend to neglect/ignore their bikes for many years, and then finally decide to get rid of them either at a garage sale or donating to a thrift store.
If you have the time/tools/aptitude/space, I highly recommend picking up bikes in project (needs work) condition!

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
