Jim Blackburn Single Stay Rear Rack

Hey gang,

I've seen a few threads about the Jim Blackburn stuff but it seems to be focused on the front racks which apparently pull some relatively large amounts. I have a Jim Blackburn rear rack that attaches to the frame via a single stay that bolts to the brake bridge rather than with two stays to seatstay braze-ons. It's in OK shape but has flaking paint (Black. doesn't appear to be anodized.). Any feelings on worth? It's a nice, light duty rack and I'm certain that it isn't worth a ton but I don't want to way underprice it if there's more cache for the vintage Blackburn stuff than I figure.

Thanks!

No advice? $5 it is at the garage sale then! I figure that it should sell easily for that although I doubt that the buyer will give a damn that this is a "classic Jim Blackburn rack!"

Racks that are stamped "Jim Blackburn" do carry more cache than the plain "Blackburn" ones. The single stay versions are less common, but not sure if that affects demand. The Silver ones seem to be selling for higher prices than the black ones at the moment.

Given the condition, you could probably get between $20 to $35 for it.

Not a lot of value there, $5 at a yard sale sounds about right. If you want to mess with selling it on Craigslist, maybe $10 to $15.

For $5 maybe will be willing to strip the paint and buff it up. It could look pretty cool. The design is pretty good as long as the loads are small. Anyway, thanks for the help, guys!
