Graziella Tandem sturmey archer Hub help in Montreal?

I have a folding Graziella tandem I believe it is from the 70's. Attached photo is not mine but mine is this exact bike same colour and all. Unfortunately I no longer have the light but otherwise it is fully intact.

The rear 3 speed hub is a Sturmey Archer 3 speed with hub brake and it is broken and needs to be fixed. Does anyone by chance know someone who can repair it in Montreal.

If not I guess I could ship the rear wheel to someone to get repaired so non local recommendations would also work.

Thanks

Mark

The hub is most likely a Sturmey Archer AB. Thousands of such units were made and spread to all corners of the world. If you can't find a competent shop you can find a replacement hub on eBay, pull the guts out on your hub and slide the new guts in. It's not difficult. Most of the parts are connected to the axle and can readily go into another shell of the same model.

Thanks for the information. There is a drum brake integrated into the wheel as well and I have not seen any of this vintage with the break for sale. Can I just get a 3 speed AB Guts and use it along with the drum break.

Thanks

Mark

Yeah, AB hubs always had that drum brake and are relatively easy to find on the net.

Here is a video describing how to remove the brake:

...and here he shows how to reassemble the hub itself (these parts are identical to the AW hub which didn't have the brake)
