Information on these head badges.

Hello everyone!

My family recently cleaned out my grandfathers old bicycle shop and we found a lot of bicycle head badges! Some seem old, so I took pictures of all of them ( 40 type in total ), to see if I can get more information on them here. If you know or can estimate the value, please say so! Tell me if you need more information for them or pictures from different angles. Any help will be appreciated! I'll be uploading the pictures in groups of ten.

Now for the next ten, the reason for the separating is because I'm editing and compressing each picture a little :

As often as not, headbadges are close to worthless, unless you happen to have a commonly sought after one such as the Legnano badge that is often times sold for between $60 and $100...

There is an upside, though. They do not take up much space and you just might have a valuable badge or two in your collection. The trick, of course, is finding the person that they are valuable to.

Though it means little, I have a box full of badges also and I frequently give lesser examples away to a fellow B4H volunteer who has started a collection.

Value Depends on Demand

I watch headbadge sales on eBay as a curiosity. Some sell for over $100, depending on rarity and special collector demand.

I recently sold a 1989 Fuji headbadge (nothing special at all) for $13 plus shipping on eBay. I would not list these as in lots, but rather would list them individually for whatever starting price you'd like, say $19.99.

If collectible, you're likely to find two bidders to drive the price to market. If only mildly collectible and not so sought after, maybe you'll only get opening bid.

Folks doing restorations will be searching for that unique headbadge. Also, if one sits for 3 months or so after re-listing, I'd cut the price.

You'd be surprised - your collection might be worth $750-1000 US.

+1 to everything phil sez. Agree about starting at $19.99. Demand for these will typically be small, so you can't count on a bidding war to drive up prices.

Thanks for posting these - very nice eye candy!

Well, that's all. Is there anything worth anything in there? I was going to keep it if it was valuable, and sell off if it was cheap.

They don't have to be valuable, theyare just gorgeus. If I find some that I really like I'll frame them and hang them

If that Silver King headbadge was used on an aluminum model it might go for a nice price.
