No idea what the original cost was but IMO you'd have a hard time selling it for more than $25.

I think that "orange paint" around the handlebars is rust. This is a kids 20" (measured by the wheel size) mountain bike. There are lots of these kinds of bikes on the market and I agree $25 or so for this one seem like a decent price.

I don't think it is rust. Doesn't look like rust, and is on the plastic parts too. I found another 20" Orbea boys bike on eBay with a starting price of $2500.

Look at the right [alloy] brake lever body. not rust.

And, yes, someone is asking $250 for this bike one ebay, it doesn't mean they'll get it, and I can almost guarantee the bike on ebay is in better condition.

$2500. Not $250. It is a new bike they're asking $2500 for. Not the same condition at all. I was mainly asking what the original price could have been on this bike.

Orbea has 3 20" kids mountain bikes on their site right now priced at 299, 319 and 379 euros. Somewhere around there, but less because that bike's at least 10 years old.

This is not a collectors bike. It is a used kids mt bike of decent quality. Should sell for $50 +/-$25. No one is going to pay shipping on this level of bike.

I don't think I ever suggested anyone would want to pay shipping on it. Wow, you all are such downers.

Chrissy, I'm not sure that it's a case of this place being full of downers necessarily, if anything it's more a case of being jaded and, possibly, a little burnt out. About once a week someone registers on this site and posts about some bike that to someone that knows bikes looks like nothing to write home about. When this information is conveyed to the new registrant, they volley the conversation back with something along the lines of "well, sure, but one eBay..." That's about where it all falls apart.

Here's all you need to know about this bike- It's a kids bike that will stand up to just about anything that a 9 year old can throw at it, but if you're looking for a hidden treasure to cover college for junior, keep searching, because this bike probably won't cover the price of pens and pencils.

Dan,
Do they still use pens and pencils at Cornell? I used punchcards when I took a computer class there.

FWIW, OP has listed it for $250.

You people provide great information. I have learned much here. I hope threads like this do turn you off providing info. Maybe someone else with a 20" children's bike will read this and learn something.
