Opening offer? Fair market price? I don't see anything exactly equivalent on the bay.

On eBay I think it's fair, but on Craigslist, I don't know that it will sell quickly at that price. I'd probably try to go $600ish.

Seems like a solid deal at $800. Combined with being "open to offers", I doubt that it will last too much longer. Nice ride.

Nice Serotta.
If I didn't have to monkey with shipping, I'd probably buy it for my youngest son.
He's been riding my wife's Primato almost every day the last month, so he definitely appreciates nicer bicycles.
I'll find something locally though, when the college kids start giving away the bikes mommy and daddy bought them.

I had contacted this seller back at the end of May, but I wasn't in any particular rush and neither was the seller. Finally, yesterday I picked up the Serotta, including another set of wheels and some shoes. Extra clean 1991 in pristine condition, one small mark on left side fork. The red pedals have gotta go! And that extra long reach stem may need to be replaced.

Nice grab. For the price of a non-descript, SORA equipped (or even 2300 ugh), aluminum frame new bike, you got yourself something special instead (plus the extras of course, which make it an even better deal).
As much as we talk about the increase in the pricing on classic bikes in the last few years, we will be looking back in a few years, lamenting the deals that could be had, for the price of common, entry level new bikes. While C/L is full of buyers for the lower priced stuff, and the near new stuff, the higher priced bikes often go wanting around here, particularly if they are over 10 years old.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.

+1 on nice grab!!!!
What size is the stem? looks like a 140. Hope you're keeping this as a rider. SLX rules!
